Frequently Asked Questions
Who is your dog trainer?
Scott
Townsend has won national competitions with his dogs and has had much
success at all levels of competition. We are fortunate that he lives locally
and offers his services to help you become a more successful hunter.
What is your hunting season?
Pheasant season runs from August 15 through
April 30. Chukar and Teny Reds are all year long. This gives you an excellent
opportunity to keep your dogs tuned up in the off season.
Can I bring my children?
Yes you can! Young hunters mean more hunters
in the coming years and we strongly encourage parents to bring their children
out to experience the fun and excitement of a successful hunt. Those not
old enough to hunt can walk along with their parent or guardian. Children
up to 14 can hunt the same birds purchased by their parents. Remember,
the safety of your children is your responsibility. You are also responsible
for their conduct.
What about liability?
All hunters will be required to sign a liability
waiver. This will list your name and address and your signature will release
us from liability for insurance reasons. If you are bringing a minor child
that is not your own, you will need a signed waiver from their parent
or guardian before they will be allowed to take the field with you.
Will you be selling my name and address?
All information that you provide us will be
used only for our own purposes. We do not sell mailing list information.
Is this a State approved preserve?
The Sexy Pheasant Farm and Dog Training Preserve is operating
by permit of the Michigan Department of Natural Resources.
Is there a relaxation area available?
There is an on-site cabin where you will be
able to warm up or cool off and in general take a rest! Beverages and
snacks will be available.
